A Winter of Many Firsts

This has been a great winter so far in the Barrett household. We have had many firsts this winter with our son Tynan (20months). Everyday he seems to amaze and impress us more with all the changes we have thrown his way. Below are some pictures of all the firsts he has completed this break.
Learning how to open his own presents.

Santa Came (Not a first, but still fun!)

Sleeping 100% in his big boy bed and doing an outstanding job of staying in bed until his door is open.

Eating an orange (not at the table, well it was Christmas morning.)

Sitting forward facing in his car seat (he just got too big to stay rear facing)

Playing/taking his big cousins toys and playing with them.

Sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag all night long (most of the night he was actually in the sleeping bag the correct way.)

Learning how to turn on a DS and taking his cousins all Christmas day.

Ice skating for the first time, he started to get pretty frustrated because he couldn't do what the other kids were doing.

Ice Skating with Mom, he was really trying to move his feet the way everyone else was. Too bad it was so cold out.

Going potty on the toilet all day long. (I still need to learn how to tell mommy or daddy that I need to go instead of them asking, but boy has mommy been excited that she has not had to change a poopy diaper in over 2 days, I guess I have been pretty excited too!)

This has definitely been an amazing 2012 and we are so excited for our 2013 to begin with all of its new changes, Tynan learning even more, having a new baby boy in March and watching him impress us just as much.

Summertime Fun...So Far!

I can't believe that summer is already about 1/2 over. It has been just flying by so far. To start the summer off Mommy left me and Daddy while she brought students on a trip to Florida. I really missed her, but did enjoy lots of daddy time and even got to spend time with Grandma M for a day.

Hanging out with Daddy, oh boy do I love his water bottle.

After mommy got home things sure changed from what our normal routine was. I only go to daycare 2 days a week at most and get to spend the rest of the days hanging out with mommy. I really like mommy days, because they usually include some type of adventure. The only problem according to mom is that I have become a little clingy to her. Below are some picture of our summer adventures. Some of our other adventures that we went on without any pictures include a sleep over to a holiday inn in Elk River with two days at their waterpark, beach, pools, parks, and many other exciting things that I just can't remember.

Just hanging out at Cousin Dain's Grad. Party and playing at Baxter Park.
Trying to keep cool in all this heat.
 Eating at my own table.

Good Old Fashion Playtime in the diaper box, with my super cape, and stuck in a drum.
Happy 4th of July! Just practicing my oh and ah for fireworks, also watching daddy set off some fireworks. Can't you just picture me running the torch in the Olympics?

Did you know that I'm a super star? Well of the Cottage Grove Strawberry Festival Parade anyway.
 Chuck E. Cheese
 Minnesota Zoo

Look at this face I just love feeding the goats.
Mom said to kiss the rooster so I did.
If you look closely you can see my thumb is in the goats mouth.
Mom captured my expression with the goat sucking my thumb.
I like to walk my stroller.
I can't wait to see what mom has in store for me for the rest of summer. I am dealing with an ear infection right now, but mom is handling it like a champ. I will also get to hang out with mom for a whole week while I teach her the ropes of daycare. Did you hear mom is going to be helping my daycare lady all next week. I might get really attached now.

xoxo Tynan

The Big 1st Birthday

A birthday wouldn't be complete though without mommy taking tons of pictures of me, my elephant, and my birthday number 1! I guess I could give her a little show if it will make her happy.

After all of the excitement of waking up to balloons being dumped in my bed, I didn't know how this day could get any better. Again mommy and daddy had a surprise for me, and off to the MN zoo we went.
 Trying to touch the fish

Watching the bird show on dad's lap.

Walking through the monkey tunnel.
Animals, what animals? Puddles are way more fun!

Riding the Monorail was very exciting at first, but it did put me to sleep.

I had a great time at the zoo. I did end up falling asleep in the last 1/2 hour that we were at the zoo, and did you know that a tiger escaped from the zoo. When I woke up he was right next to me. So I brought him home.

The day ended with a drive in movie of chipwrecked, a bath, and a good night story from my mommy. What a great 1st birthday! PS. The tiger was stuffed.
